Job Description:

Under the project, organization will do the implementation of nutrition project in selected districts of Punjab. Position will be based in Jhang, Muzaffargarh, Ranjanpur & Multan where donor funded emergency project is to be implemented initially for three (03) months

1. JOB SUMMARY: 

Extensive (monthly) inter-district travel is envisaged for this position to the targeted districts within Punjab and to the Country Office. Very close coordination with country office and donor would be required for this position.

The PM would be expected to manage overall project implementation, team management and maintaining a close coordination with donor. The position is required to provide strong leadership and administrative management support to ensure that all project activities are well-coordinated and contribute to the implementation of project. Along with ensuring the management & strong thought leadership to nutrition programme is also expected from the project Manager.

2. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: 

a. Project Management

i. Be accountable for the budget, timeline and the scope and overall project’s implementation in the assigned districts of Punjab.

ii. Lead the implementation of the project activities as per the agreed workplan and the donor contract. Lead the development of a DIP (Detailed Implementation Plan) for the project and continuously updating it for changes if any, and to record the progress.

iii. Keep regular over-review of the detailed implementation plan to monitor operational and programmatic aspects of projects.

iv. Ensure that programmatic & financial reports are produced and submitted to relevant sections within the country office well in time.

v. Remain vigilant on compliance and legal requirements in connection with the project’s activities.

vi. Lead accurate data collection system, monitor data for accuracy, and respond appropriately with programmatic changes as needed to meet targets.

vii. Responsible for contract management with vendors/contractors by ensuring adherence to organization policies and procedures in close coordination with relevant departments in the country office.

viii. To conduct regular visit of project districts for first hand knowledge of the issues, challenges and immediate resolution. 

b. Coordination & Networking

i. Represent Organization at all project related coordination meetings.

ii. Establish and maintain good relationships strong & linkages with stakeholders in Punjab.

iii. Seek periodic endorsements from donor on all project activities.

iv. Maintain operational and strategic level coordination with donor on day-today management of the project activities.

v. Establish and maintain partnering relationships (funded & non-funded) with the relevant government departments, donors, UN agencies, and civil society organizations working on health and nutrition.

vi. Remain flexible to adapt and learn from others according to the contextual requirements and the needs of the project.

c. Programme Development

i. Contribute to the expansion of organization\'s programme through strategic visioning in thematic area of Health and Nutrition.

ii. Provide inputs in the fundraising efforts under the health and nutrition thematic area, by leading the development of technical parts of funding packages (proposals, concept notes).

iii. Promote the development of health and nutrition projects by offering creative ideas and new approaches to solving problems in the thematic areas.

iv. Support in capacity building of staff on the health and nutrition thematic areas.

v. Actively pursue and develop internal and external linkages consistent with the vision, mission statement, core values and overall organization objectives.
