Job Description:

Assignment

Under the supervision of the Project Manager & Deputy Project Manager along with the technical support of the Area Coordinator, the  teamleaders are responsible for managing the time,  quality of work and logistics of the field enumerator’s teams, ensuring that they achieve targets and reporting regularly on the progress and quality of data collection. He is the link between the PM/DPM, AME monitors/ DEO  and the enumerators .

He ideal candidate shall have technical knowledge of nutrition and strong skills in supervising and  conducting interviews, focus groups discussion, case studies and surveys. Moreover, the candidate should be aware of the minimum standard that have to be ensured in data-collection used for research. The candidate needs to be willing and able to travel regularly to project sites and to other districts, and or where needed.

Functions: Responsibilities

Objective 1: Data-collection activities

  • To attend the training and piloting phase of the survey procedure.
  • Dispatch the enumerators teams in the villages.
  • Conducts spot checks to ensure the right people are being interviewed and data is being collected correctly.
  • Does spot checks on how nutrition data is being collected.
  • Talks to community leader if a problem arises.
  • They will give district field leader a daily balance of what was achieved during the day.
  • To support Surveyors in planning and conducting a survey in various locations in districts of Sindh (for North Sindh: Kashmore and South Sindh (Badin).
  • To ensure quality through regular checks of data collected and will randomly visit to check the interviewed HH/individual.
  • To ensure that the teams plan their activities to achieve the targets in survey data collection before the given deadlines
  • To ensure that Surveyors obtain informed consent and respect confidentiality of information received.
  • Coaching surveyors on improving their skills and ensure they are correctly performing their data-collection task to ensure high quality data-collection: ensure that enumerators properly understand all questions and ask to respondents in the correct way and give appropriate feedback if not the case
  • To communicate any technical or administrative issues/ problems with the field coordinator.
  • To undertake a village level area analysis before deployment of enumerators  so that the survey is conducted smoothly in the villages.

Objective 2 – Beneficiary accountability

·         Ensure that all relations with the communities we work with are conducted in a respectful and consultative manner.

·         Ensure that communities are adequately consulted and informed about programme objectives, activities, selection criteria, and methodologies

·         Orient community members about accountability mechanism and disseminate the telephone number

Objective 3 - General objectives

  • Carry out all activities according to the objectives of the programme and the beneficiary involvement strategy of programme.

 

  • Ensure on time completion of the tasks in line with the workplan.

Desired

  • Experience in working on large scale field research, surveys in the field of public health and nutrition

The candidate will work six days a week (Monday to Saturday) excluding Sundays


Required Skills:
Strong Analytical Skills,excellent in tasks/activities management,fluency in spoken and written English and Sindhi
